We are fully committed to the collective goal of ‘The Rickshaw Run’: to raise money for charity.  ‘The Rickshaw Run’ has already raised a massive amount of money for charity over the years and we plan on keeping this fantastic tradition going.
As a team on the ‘Rickshaw Run’ we are obliged to raise a minimum of £1000 for charity, of which £500 goes to the official 'Rickshaw Run' charity, Frank Water.

 To date, Frank Water has changed the lives of many thousands of people in some of the poorest parts of India. Frank Water sets up and services seriously needed fresh water stations in parts of India which have no access to clean, safe drinking water. CANSA


The second charity that we have decided to donate to is CANSA. All of the members of our team (along with many other friends) have had very personal experiences with this deadly and often unavoidable condition. We are hoping that the small amount of money that we can generate and donate to CANSA will lead to more research into this disease and potentially save someone’s life.

Every donation will be really appreciated; no amount is too small as every bit will help us toward our goal, and hopefully past it.


We are going to be ‘pimping’ our rickshaw in order to make a statement for charity and to give potential sponsors the opportunity to get their brand seen across the Indian sub-continent. This means that we will be decorating our trusty steed at the start of our trip as shamefully as we see fit (or you require), to give you the best exposure possible on a three wheeled canvas. So, if you have either the means/desire (preferably both) for your brand to be seen throughout India, and/or associated with our mission, we would love to be your media!

Opportunities for sponsorship:
  • Donation to a charity of our choice; donations of 200GBP will ensure your brand is represented on our daily blog, as well as visibly on the Tuk-Tuk itself (as bumper stickers approx 30cmx20cm).
  • Hire of the Tuk-Tuk; we are looking for one major sponsor for this amount, and this will get your name in the title of our team e.g. ‘The (Brand name X) Real Republicans’. Brand name X will thus be in all correspondence via email and other means, our daily blog, our video diary, the official Rickshaw Run website and blog, and all over the Tuk-Tuk itself. The sponsorship amount required for this is 1000GBP.
  • Tuk-Tuk insurance deposit; this is a requirement of the organisers to ensure that we do not just leave the vehicle on the side of the road in Goa. As this amount is returned upon return of the vehicle at the end of the race, it will be split up between both Frank Water and CANSA as a further donation. Your brand will receive the same airtime on all our above mentioned correspondence, as well as having a bumper sticker and association with the charities on the Tuk-Tuk itself.  The sponsorship amount required for this is 1000GBP.
Ideally the second and third opportunities above would be taken up by the same company/brand, or two brands already associated together.
Through online blogging before and after the event, daily updates during (dependent upon internet coverage while travelling in India) the race, pictures and buzz on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, and video diary uploads onto YouTube (with an overall trip diary) sponsors will enjoy the following benefits (there will be clear branding of the Tuk-Tuk and all sponsorship throughout all of the above mentioned media):
·         Brand/company awareness among youth – through use of viral media, social networks, and the trip diary;
·         Association with charity – through donation of insurance cover, this will also be mentioned on visual sponsorship on the Tuk-Tuk to closer tie the sponsor and charity (bumper stickers);
·         Association with adventure and travel;
·         Visibility in India – advertising to a rapidly developing consumer market as we will be driving through both large and small towns;
·         Positive brand association – word of mouth.
